Blank screen: we all know that drama very well. It seems like our brain gets stuck into square one forever, and the more we need ideas, the fewer insights we seem able to get.
Everything would be so easy if we could just turn that creativity lamp on… just by snapping a finger!
But hold on: there’s no light in this world that cannot be ignited!
(I just came up with this sentence and now I’m on my way to finishing the introduction of this blog post. See? I just stopped worrying for a very brief moment… and then I heard the click!)
This reminds me of an old social media post I’d published, by the way:
There are several ways, though, to hear that click in your head faster. So if you’re running out of time and need creative ideas for your content, marketing, or branding strategy, take a note: mood boards are a super powerful tool.
They capture a lot of trends, tones, and feelings at the same time so they can help your brain get out of the snooze mode and turn on the lights.
And they’re not only totally customizable to your own vision and needs, but also they’re incredibly adaptable to almost any field, theme, or time of the year.
Time of the year: that’s what I want to focus on in this post. Creating a mood board for specific times of the year might help you come up with new ideas a lot.
So if you need to schedule a month-long pack of social media posts, for example, creating a mood board with elements and themes that represent the month you’re scheduling content for sounds like a great creative approach to your task.
To make things easier and help you get in the mood, keep reading this post to check out my June mood board! I’ll be talking about:
the main holidays and trends of the month;
inspiring images that match June’s mood;
and I'll be sharing a color palette idea (with color codes) so you can get inspired and speed up your content production!
June inspiration mood board
So first, here's the mood board I posted on my Instagram earlier this week:
You can see some important holidays written between the pictures, right? Let’s talk about each one of them!
Holidays in June to keep your eyes on
This month is filled with good vibes and themes that can really make your marketing strategies stand out! Take note of the following dates and mark them on your content calendar:
Pride Month
Pride month makes June a really important time for reminding everyone how wonderful it would be to live in a world always filled with love, equality, and respect for one another.
Create content that celebrates diversity and gives space for the LGBTQ+ community to be heard. Let all colors shine together!
World Environment Day and World Oceans Day
World Environment Day (June 5) and World Oceans Day (June 8) bring us back to another fundamental reflection: our home must be cared for—in the most loving way.
This is the perfect time to focus on content that also raises awareness on important topics such as climate change, pollution, and sustainability. Take this chance to educate your audience and encourage them to do the same!
Summer Solstice in the Northern Hemisphere
Summer is right around the corner, so don't miss this opportunity to create your June content accordingly!
Colorful, vibrant, and playful graphics and visual elements will perfectly match the sunny days ahead!
International Father’s Day
Father’s Day (June 20) is another important holiday to mark on your content calendar. Remember, though, that not everyone is comfortable about this date.
Think about the different ways you can support your audience in this personal, emotional time.
Other dates to consider:
World Music Day (June 21): what about just jamming around all day long? This is a great opportunity to create spirited content that sounds as good as our all-time favorite songs!
Social Media Day (June 30): to wrap up this month, mark this date on your calendar to be reminded to focus on genuinely interacting with your audience. Engagement will probably be high on this day, so think of how you can make the best of this online presence.
Color combinations that match June
The color palette on the left of my mood board synthesizes how I see this month in all its power and vibrancy.
Feel free to get the HEX codes below and use them in your own content!
What do you think of this color combination idea and this mood board? Tell me in the comments!
Love,
Ana Clara.
